Week #2 Ni Hao shi wo

Sister Valenzuela's Baptism!!

Ni Hao Shi Wo,

Okay I want to start off saying that two years ago on March 16th (last Wednesday) was the day I decided to serve a mission. I've had lots of times where I think "Wow, I told myself I was never going to do this. But look at me now I am in TAIWAN" Heavenly Father really does have a plan for us, and knows what is best for each of us.

So guess what! I got my first baptism this week!! Sister Valenzuela is so cute and so amazing. I wasn't here to introduce her to the church but I was able to help prepare her for baptism and now help her get to the Temple. She is so happy and excited :) I am so grateful for this opportunity to help and serve others. It's awesome that I am in a English ward. But all the members are not native english speakers so I can't understand them sometimes too hahaha. I feel like that is going to be the rest of my life! hahaha
The picture taking has continued. Even in church hahaha. Me and Sister Knapp get told we look like we are from France. Is that a good or bad thing? My area it's super crowded and there are lots of people. They are super nice, there are still some rude people though. Sometimes it's a blessing I can't always understand them lol. It's frustrating because you think people are interested but they only want to talk because we are different. So we explain the restoration only to find out they aren't actually interested. But hopefully it prepares them for when they are ready for the gospel.
The roads are crazy insane here, riding a bike on them is super scary, especially when you are right next to a bus or in between two cars. I have a fun story, we were riding our bikes and I heard this little girl's voice yelling "chuan jiao shi! chuan jiao shi!" (missionary in chinese) I look back and there is this little girl holding out of a taxi window some crackers for me. Seriously the cutest thing :) We have had lots of people fight us about the Book of Mormon, usually I don't know what is going on but Sister Knapp usually sends me a hint so I know. I wish I could just shove the Book of Mormon in their face and make them accept it, but all you can do is listen, thank them for their time, then leave. And then I pray for them after.
I have lots of funny stories lolol we met this old lady, she was 70 and she made it very clear that her boyfriend was 33 years younger than her. She said "I only like young men, not old men" and "I have a young heart" hahahah. Also I met my district this week and I got to show pictures and talk about my family fun!!! I also met a drunk lady, she wanted pictures with us so we held up the Book of Mormon in all of them, and I shared one of my favorite scriptures with her Alma 36:3 and she also took a picture of that. I hope when she woke up sober she read it. We've had lots of miracles and disappointments this week. But that's missionary life right?

This sums up how I feel!

Alma 29:
I know that which the Lord hath commanded me, and I glory in it. I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy.
10 And behold, when I see many of my brethren truly penitent, and coming to the Lord their God, then is my soul filled with joy; then do I remember what the Lord has done for me, yea, even that he hath heard my prayer; yea, then do I remember his merciful arm which he extended towards me.
Love,  Sister Scharman
Old people dance in the park in the mornings when it isn't raining.
One morning we went and joined them :)

My bike broke so my Zone Leader fixed it.
When people were passing we would tell them
he liked hugging bikes :)
